Inman Aligner and the ins and outs of treatment

April 16th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Dentists

When visiting dentists in Essex they will always try to work out exactly which method of treatment is right for giving you the results you want in a manner which you are comfortable with.  Viewed as part of the range of invisible braces products, Inman Aligners are one of those options for you to choose from when considering corrective dentistry services.

The visible bar which runs along the front of your teeth is the most noticeable distinction between Inman Aligners and ‘invisible’ methods such as Invisalign.  On the similarities side, both can be removed when you want to eat or brush your teeth and both get better results if worn for longer each day (20 hours a day is suggested as the minimum for the Inman system, versus 22 hours for Invisalign).  For length or treatment, the Inman clearly wins out, varying from 6 to 16 weeks from start to finish against Invisalign’s 6 to 18 months.

Cost effectiveness at the dentist for a dental job is aided by the fact that you only need one Inman Aligner rather than successive new ones which need to be replaced every couple of weeks as with Invisalign.  Not being completely clear, many people will choose not to go for the Inman so a lot of dentists don’t offer it, but at roughly a quarter of the cost, it may well be worth your while looking for one who does.

As with any new oral equipment there is a period of a few days where it might not be as comfortable, but this should soon pass and then the treatment period will just sail by, leaving you with straighter teeth. You should also work hard to maintain oral health through the use of toothpaste and a toothbrush to ward off the need for things like tooth extraction which can have devastating effect on your treatment.
